Membership in PubWest enables those in the publishing industry to strengthen networking, enjoy camaraderie and stay above the curve in terms of professional development and exploring new ideas.
At present, we have four levels of membership: Publisher, Associate, Individual and Student. The levels are explained below. The membership and nominating committee is chaired by Derek Lawrence of Interweave. Derek may be reached at dlawrence@interweave.com.
Publisher Membership
Publishers are eligible for this level if they have three or more books (in any form) in print, one of which has been published within the last two years.
Annual Dues: $400 for companies with more than 5 employees; or $250 for companies with 3 to 5 employees; or $150 for individuals and 1 to 2 person companies.
Benefits:
• Voting rights.
• Free listing in the PubWest Membership Directory which is distributed nationally.
• Receive The e-EndSheet, an online newsletter which features diverse publishing topics, industry news and PubWest happenings, on a quarterly basis.
• All employees of member organization may attend the annual PubWest Conference at the member discount price.
• Receive regular PubWest News & Events e-blasts with up-to-date PubWest news including job announcements and hot topics.
• Volunteer opportunities on the PubWest board and committees.
• Invites to regional Booklore seminars and Happy Hours.
• Participation in the PubWest Mentorship Program.
• Opportunity to attend conferences hosted by other publishing affiliate associations at reduced rates.
• Opportunity to display books at Book Expo America, Association of Partners for Public Lands and other industry trade shows as requested by PubWest members.
• Discounts for advertising in Publishers Weekly and The Bloomsbury Review, plus discounts on Bookscan subscriptions, Publishers Weekly subscriptions and Combined Book Exhibit programs.
• Advertising available in the nationally distributed PubWest Membership Directory and The e-EndSheet.
• Free participation and access of results to the Huenefeld PubWest Survey of Financial Operations.
• Discounts for entries in the PubWest Design Awards, which gives books added exposure and recognizes publishers for their contributions to the industry.
Associate Membership
This membership level is open to publishers with fewer than three books in print and other businesses, institutions or individuals in activities related to book publishing.
Annual Dues: $400 for companies with more than 5 employees; or $250 for companies with 3 to 5 employees; or $150 for individuals and 1- to 2-person companies.
Benefits: This membership level includes all the benefits of a Publisher Membership listed above, except this level is a non-voting member.
Individual Membership
This level includes people employed by publishers who have declined to become full Publisher Members or former book publishing employees who are not currently employed by a book publisher.
Annual Dues: $150
Benefits:

• Receive The e-EndSheet.
• Attend the annual PubWest conference at the member discount price.
• Receive PubWest News & Events e-blasts.
• Volunteer opportunities on committees.
• Invites to regional Booklore seminars and Happy Hours.
Student Membership
This level includes students enrolled in higher education at any accredited design school, trade school, community (junior) college, college or university. It may also include students enrolled in a higher education program for intensive study in book publishing (if not employed fulltime by a publishing company during their studies). Students are eligible until one year after graduation.
Annual Dues: $25
Benefits: This membership level includes all the benefits of an Individual Membership listed above.
