Colorado Booklore Explores E-books
About twenty people attended the October 2008 Booklore and happy hour in Colorado to learn more about e-books and electronic publishing--as well as to socialize with their fellow local publishing professionals.
Don Schmidt of ABC-CLIO introduced types of electronic files and platforms, and mapped out a sample workflow for producing both print and electronic versions of a title. Suzanne Kemperman of OCLC NetLibrary discussed risks and opportunities in electronic publishing, pros and cons of distributing your own e-books or partnering with a distributor/aggregator, and steps any publisher can take to start producing e-books today.
Listen to podcasts of their presentations and view their Powerpoint slides below.
